Location: Phnom Penh, Ratanakiri, Siem Reap
Day 1: Leaving Phnom Penh by private transportation to Banlung, Ratanakiri. Along the way there, you will pass many villages of provinces and see how lives there be like. We will arrive Ratanakiri by afternoon and stay at a comfortable hotel in Banlung. At 7pm, expert guide will meet you at for a trek briefing. It is the first opportunity for everyone to meet the people on their trek and to run over the final details so everyone knows what to expect.
Day 2: You will be picked up from your hotel at 8.15am and travel by car to Kalai Village where the trek begins. The local ranger welcomes us. We enter the jungle. A few small creeks have to be crossed. Once in a while we take a break to relax and enjoy the view. We arrive at the campsite where we spend the night around 15.00. The campsite is close to the O’Kaow creek rapids. The water is deep enough for you to rinse the sweat off your body and invigorate your muscles.
In the evening, your guide and ranger will set up a shelter, prepare the food, dinner at the camp-fire and overnight in hammock with mosquito net.
Day 3: We have breakfast at 08.00 am. After breaking down the campsite around 09.00 am we start walking a different way back. During our way back we rest a few times and have lunch. We arrive in Kalai around 15.00 pm. And our driver is waiting to take us back to Banlung. Estimated arrival time in Banlung 4.00 PM.
Day 4: Visit Yak Lom Crater Lake, Yeak Loam, also spelled Yak Loum, is a lake and a popular tourist destination in the Ratanakiri province of north-eastern Cambodia in the late morning for a swim and a picnic lunch, then depart to Siem Reap.
