Day 1: Our driver will meet you at Phnom Penh International Airport and we will transfer directly to your centrally-located riverside hotel.
Day 2: Enjoy a private tour of the highlights of Phnom Penh by tuk-tuks. You will visit Wat Phnom Temple, Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, the Russian Market and Choeng Ek Killing Fields reminding you of the darkest time – Pol Pot Regime in Cambodia.
Day 3: Enjoy a free morning in Phnom Penh at river side and then transfer by private car directly to Siem Reap, stopping for lunch at the Spider village of S’koun. Along the way, you will cross many villages of provinces which mean you can see the real life of Cambodians at rural area.
Day 4: Our guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning and we will depart on bicycles from there to the temple complex and follow a loop that passes by many of the main temples. The tour will visit the highlights of Angkor, including Angkor Thom, Bayon, the Terraces of the Elephants and Leper King and Angkor Wat itself.
Day 5: We will depart Siem Reap by car with our guide to visit the River of a Thousand Lingas – a jungle stream which is known as Kbal Spean in Khmer Language (Bridge Head) situated in north of Siem Reap. At the top, you will be rewarded with a view through the flowing water of an ancient carved stream bed. We will eat lunch nearby before visiting the unique pink sandstone Citadel of Women, Bounteay Srey temple. And return to overnight at Siem Reap.
Day 6: This is a flexible day which means it is possible to visit other sites in Siem Reap as well, such as the crocodile farm, museums and Western Baray, where a temple is located on an island in this massive man-made reservoir. Attend a traditional Apsara Dance and Buffet Dinner in the evening.
Day 7: We depart Siem Reap by private car into the jungles to the lost city of Koh Ker which is the second largest Khmer temple town and was the capital of the empire between 928 and 944. We will explore the ancient pyramid temple located at the center of this once great kingdom. After lunch, we will continue to Banlung where we will stay overnight at a lakeside lodge.
Day 8: Depart by car from Banlung north to the Se San River where we will board a boat and head upriver to a small tribal village. Begin trekking through tribal farming areas and bamboo forests to primary jungle and a hill with a beautiful view over the jungle canopy, the Se San River and mountains from distance. In the afternoon, camping at a remote waterfall.
Day 9: Continue trekking uphill through primary jungle in the borderlands of remote Virachey National Park to a quiet tribal village where we will have a chance to meet with new people and observe village lives. Overnight in a tribal homestay.
Day 10: We will continue trekking back to Koh Piek on the Se San River and explore the village and views of the traditional Kacha cemetery before going back to Banlung.
Day 11: Visit Yak Lom Crater Lake in the late morning for a swim. After lunch, depart to Stung Treng – the town at the confluence of the Mekong and Sekong Rivers by car. In the afternoon, we will kayak across the Sekong River and visit an ethnic Lao village where bamboo sticky rice is made. Next, kayak down the Sekong with a wonderful scenery of sunset along the river. Overnight at a riverside hotel.
Day 12: Travel north by car to a small village and board a boat to a rocky stretch of river distinguished by its deep water pools and numerous islands. Further up river, a waterfall creates a natural barrier to fish movement and we will find numerous fish species in the region downriver. If it is possible, we will walk to this remote waterfall and visit a small fishing village. Afterwards, we will continue by boat downstream to a small island which is located just off from a deep water pool where the dolphins are based and various other large freshwater species of fish lurk. We will set up camp on a sandy beach and enjoy dinner around a campfire.
Day 13: We will awake to the nature – sounds of birds and rare freshwater dolphins surfacing around the island. We will start kayaking down river through the remote flooded forests of the Mekong after breakfast. After lunch, we continue our journey into the Mekong Wetlands, the most remote part of Cambodia, and enjoy fishing throughout the day until evening. We will set up camp on an island overnight.
Day 14: We will fish most of the day over a 20 kilometer stretch of the river to catch some very large fish. It is possible with patience. This is a part of the river known for many fish species that are found nowhere else. In the evening, we will arrive at the confluence of the Mekong and Sekong Rivers and cross over to our hotel. Overnight at riverside hotel in Stung Treng.
Day 15: Transfer by car to the Mekong River near the Silk Islands and board a comfortable 2-deck cruise boat. You will enjoy cruising and fishing also you will have an opportunity to make excursions on the islands including visits to an island pagoda, local silk weaving communities, farms, villages and schools then the journey to Phnom Penh, enjoying great views of river life, fishing practices, a floating village, the four rivers region and the city. Watch the sunset over the river while enjoying a BBQ dinner and drinks on board before arriving at Phnom Penh.
Day 16: Depart in the morning by car to the ancient mountain temple of Phnom Chisor where you can explore both the ancient and modern temples of Phnom Chisor and experience great views over the countryside. After that, we will continue to the caves and limestone formations at Kompong Trach where you can enjoy exploring the caves. We will arrive at the colonial seaside town of Kep in the afternoon and stay there for the night.
Day 17: We will leave from Kep to Sihanouk Ville – a coastal city in Cambodia. After checking into the hotel, you can enjoy the afternoon at the beach.
Day 18: A two day live-aboard boat charter on board a 2-deck fishing vessel with a professional crew will begin. You will be taken to the best fishing spots as well as some of the most remote and beautiful islands off the coast of Cambodia by a very experienced captain. We will fish a number of locations for a variety of species. It will be time for fishing, snorkeling, swimming and watching the beautiful views of beaches as well as islands of Cambodia.
Day 19: After breakfast, enjoy the way back to Sihanoukville. We will have dinner on land, as you will experience the best of our catch cooked up for us.
