8-Day Sightseeing and Kayaking Adventure

Experience the perfect blend of cultural discovery and outdoor adventure on this 8-day Sightseeing and Kayaking Adventure in Cambodia.

Itinerary 

Day 1

Travel the city. Visit Tuol Sleng Genocidal Museum and Cheung Ek Killing Field in the morning.

After lunch we will continue to The Royal Palace and National Museum as well as Russian Market if we have enough time. Overnight in a hotel in Phnom Penh

 

Day 2

Leave Phnom Penh to Kampong Chhnang by bus. We will take Oxcart ride to visit Pottery ClayVillage to watch villagers make pots from clay. During the visit, you can make one for your own.
 
Then we will continue our journey to eat lunch at Psar Krom Market near the Floating Village.
 
We will take a boat trip to watch how local life be like. We will spend a night and eat breakfast at the province.
 

Day 3

Travel to Kampong Thom. It will take 4hours to reach there. After lunch, we will visit SamboPreykuk Temple, is an archaeological site in Cambodia located in Kampong Thom Province, 30 km (19 mi) north of Kampong Thom, before continue our journey to Steung Treng and overnight at a riverside hotel.
 

Day 4 (Part 1): Stung Treng to Preah Rumkel  

Start the day by driving from Stung Treng toward the Cambodia-Laos border. After a bumpy 5 km road, take a boat from Vean Khoev, where the Mekong River serves as the natural border. In 40 minutes, you’ll pass the Dolphin Pool and reach Hang Khone, Laos’ southernmost tip—a historic French ferry port. Goods were once transferred here from trains to boats.

Cross the river to Preah Rumkel, Cambodia, and embark on a 1.5 km jungle trek to Sopheakmit Waterfall. This trail offers stunning views of Liphi (Laos) and, in the dry season, the chance to hike across the Mekong’s exposed riverbed—a unique but challenging experience.


Day 4 (Part 2): Dolphin Pool & Don Khone  

Enjoy lunch at the Dolphin Pool, featuring local cuisine with possible Irrawaddy dolphin sightings. Then, cross into Laos (visa-free) to explore Don Khone, one of the scenic “4,000 Islands.” Relax with a Beer Lao while overlooking Cambodia.

Next, hike up Phnom Bongkhouy Mountain for wildlife spotting and panoramic views of Laos’ islands and waterfalls. Return to Cambodia, with an optional dolphin swim. The day ends with riverside camping and a campfire near Ou Svay, preparing for the next day’s kayaking adventure.

 

Day 5: 

Start the kayak trip from Ou Svay, kayak through the flooded forests a Ramsar Wetlands which supports a large variety of birds along the river. Enjoy the remoteness of the area feeling completely at one with nature.
 
Stop near the village of Veun Sian on one of the many sandy beaches for a barbecue lunch before continuing kayak trip until Koh Key. Transfer by boat back to Stung Treng and spend a night in the town. 
 

Day 6

After breakfast, we will leave Steung Treng direct to Beng Mealea temple. Arrive there by lunch time. Visit the temple after lunch. Then, we will leave there and stay overnight in Siem Reap Town.

 

Day 7

Visit Angkor Wat Temple – Heritage of Humanity and World Wonder. This tour visits the temples of Angkor, Bayon, Ta Prohm, and the Terrace of the Elephants and Leper King among others.
Free in the evening. You can go to visit Pub Street and enjoy your dinner there.
 

Day 8

Visit the largest protected area in Cambodia – Kulen Prum Wildlife Sanctuary (Phnom Kulen) a big waterfall in northern Siem Reap Province. 
We will have lunch nearby before visiting the unique pink sandstone Citadel of Women, Banteay Srey.
 
We will also have time to visit an additional temple before returning to overnight in Siem Reap. In the evening we will enjoy buffet with Apsara dance.
